TAIRO International, a company started by husband-and-wife team Robert and Tania Bassan, dedicates itself to the distribution of fragrances and cosmetics in the Caribbean and Mexico Duty-Free Market. The company marks its start by distributing small independent European brands.
1998
TAIRO makes its first impression in the region by partnering with Satinine to distribute the Ferrari Fragrance brand. St. John and Perfumes Isabell.
1999
TAIRO is appointed distributor for Ferrari Fragrance.
2002
TAIRO is appointed distributor for Parfums Lolita Lempicka (Pacific Creations) and Hermes Fragrances.
2003
TAIRO is appointed distributor for ADF brands (Kenneth Cole, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors), a division of Parfums Givenchy, an LVHM company. Lancaster purchases Kenneth Cole & Marc Jacobs and appoints TAIRO, its distributor for the Caribbean and Mexico duty-free region. Later that year, TAIRO began working with the entire Lancaster portfolio of brands. Procter and Gamble Prestige and TAIRO International join forces for the distribution of their brands in the region.
2005
YSL Fragrances & Cosmetics appoints TAIRO as its distributor for the region. P&G merged with Cosmopolitan Cosmetics and continues its partnership with TAIRO Brands, to include Gucci, Dunhill, Escada, Rochas, and Mont Blanc.
2006
P&G expands its portfolio to include Dolce & Gabbana fragrances. Coty Prestige (formerly Lancaster) purchases Unilever and continues its partnership with TAIRO. Brands include Calvin Klein and Vera Wang. Coty Beauty with GMP Services.
2008
TAIRO is appointed distributor for Hanae Mori, a prestigious French boutique brand.
L'Oreal purchases YSL Fragrances & Cosmetics and continues its partnership with TAIRO.
2010
TAIRO and P&G expanded their partnership to include the Mexican duty-free region.
2011
TAIRO is appointed distributor for Strivectin and TPR brands to include FCUK, Oscar Blondi.
2012
TAIRO expanded and grew its warehouse footprint to 45,000 sq ft, including air-condition space for makeup and skincare products.
2013
TAIRO extended its warehouse capabilities by adding an air-conditioned CBP Bonded space in order to further complement its offering to clients and suppliers. In addition, TAIRO opened sister company SOMAR Distributor, dedicated to professional hair care and beauty brands for the Caribbean and Travel Retail Mexican markets.
2014
Sister company, SOMAR Distributor, starts to distribute OPI professional for salons in the Caribbean region.
2015
TAIRO expanded its social media reach by opening an Instagram account to share exciting news with its Beauty Advisors around the Caribbean and Mexico.
2016
Coty acquired P&G Specialty Beauty Business, expanding TAIRO’S distribution of Coty brands to the Mexican Duty-Free market.
2017
TAIRO is appointed distributor of Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu, and Tiffany & Co.
2018
TAIRO adds Burberry to its expanding portfolio. In addition, TAIRO added a house brand division with the launch of Fantasy Fragrance and Shaina B. Miami.
2019
Tairo adds skincare brand, Sol de Janeiro, to its beauty portfolio.
2021
TAIRO is appointed distributor for Molton Brown, a luxury British fragrance and personal care brand.
2022
TAIRO launches Frida Kahlo in the Caribbean and Mexico.
